Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor has reportedly received an extortion threat from a man claiming to be Harry Boxer, an alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The caller allegedly demanded ₹5 crore from the actor, following which Tusshar approached the Mumbai Police.

The matter has now been handed over to the Anti-Extortion Cell and the Crime Branch for investigation. However, preliminary findings have raised doubts about the caller’s identity, with investigators suspecting that the threat may have been a hoax.

Voice Analysis Raises Questions About Caller’s Identity

As part of the investigation, the Mumbai Crime Branch reportedly analysed the audio recording of the threatening call and compared it with a voice sample attributed to Harry Boxer.

A preliminary analysis revealed a mismatch between the two voices. This has led investigators to suspect that the caller may not have been the alleged gang member and could have been an unidentified individual using the gang’s name to intimidate the actor.

While the initial findings point towards a possible impersonation, the investigation is still underway. Police are working to identify and trace the person who made the call.

Police Investigate Possible Extortion Attempt

Following the alleged demand for ₹5 crore, Tusshar Kapoor approached the Mumbai Police, prompting an investigation into the matter.

The Anti-Extortion Cell and Crime Branch are now examining the available evidence, including the audio recording, to establish the caller’s identity and determine the motive behind the threat.

Investigators believe that the use of a well-known gang’s name may have been intended to create fear and pressure the actor into complying with the demand.

The police are continuing their efforts to trace the caller. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
