Sundar C Responds to AI Allegations
After the promotional material for Mookuthi Amman 2 was released, some viewers raised questions about the film’s use of artificial intelligence. Director Sundar C responded to the claims and clarified that AI had been used only in a small number of shots.
According to the filmmaker, the film has nearly 3,000 shots requiring CGI, but only 15 of them used AI. His clarification came after speculation that the project relied heavily on artificial intelligence for its visual effects.
Mookuthi Amman 2 to Clash With Suriya’s Scene
Mookuthi Amman 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on November 6, just ahead of Diwali. The film will face a box-office clash with Scene, directed by Jithu Madhavan and starring Suriya, Nazriya Nazim and Naslen.
The original Mookuthi Amman, released in 2020, featured RJ Balaji alongside Nayanthara. The fantasy-comedy followed a news anchor whose life changes after he encounters the family deity, Mookuthi Amman. Although the film was initially planned for a theatrical release, the COVID-19 pandemic led to its direct release on Disney+ Hotstar, now JioHotstar. It received a positive response from audiences and critics.
With Nayanthara returning as the Goddess and a new story featuring a larger ensemble cast, the sequel is among the Tamil films arriving in cinemas ahead of Diwali.
