Production of Prabhas-starrer ‘Fauzi’ halted indefinitely after fatal road accident near Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The production of the big-budget action film Fauzi, starring Prabhas, has been suspended indefinitely following a tragic road accident that claimed one life and left several crew members injured near Hyderabad, according to media reports.

Accident near Abdullapurmet leaves one dead, five injured

As reported by Times Now, the incident occurred in the early hours near Abdullapurmet on the outskirts of Hyderabad, while a production vehicle carrying crew members was en route to Ramoji Film City for a scheduled shoot.

The vehicle reportedly lost control and collided with cement dividers near the Toopranpet Bridge, an area under the jurisdiction of the Choutuppal Police Station. The impact was severe, resulting in the death of one crew member at the scene, while five others sustained injuries of varying severity.

Emergency responders and local authorities reached the site shortly after the accident and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. The exact condition of the survivors has not been fully disclosed at the time of reporting.

Production halted; official statement awaited

The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, which has not yet released an official statement. Reports suggest the team is coordinating with the families of the deceased and assisting the injured crew members.

The accident has brought filming to an immediate standstill, with production activities now suspended indefinitely.

‘Fauzi’ was nearing completion

Before the interruption, Fauzi was reportedly in its final stages of production, with nearly 80% of filming already completed. The remaining schedule included three large-scale action sequences featuring Prabhas, which were considered crucial to the film’s completion.

The production had recently faced another challenge when unauthorized images and videos from the set surfaced online. The makers had issued warnings against leaking or sharing such content, stating that it compromised the intended cinematic experience and could lead to legal action.

Release plans remain unchanged for now

Despite the current pause, the makers are reportedly aiming to stick to the original release timeline. Fauzi is currently slated for a Dussehra 2026 release, positioning it as one of the major festive releases of the year. If completed on schedule, it would mark one of Prabhas’s significant theatrical outings following The Raja Saab.

Cast and production scale

Alongside Prabhas, the film features debutant Imanvi in a lead role, with veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada playing pivotal characters. The project is being mounted on a large scale by Mythri Movie Makers, known for high-budget commercial productions.

The shooting halt has placed the film’s schedule under uncertainty, with further updates expected after investigations and official statements from the production team.
