Singer Sonu Nigam has postponed his upcoming Delhi concert in support of students protesting over the alleged NEET paper leak controversy. The decision comes as demonstrations continue across the country, with students demanding accountability and reforms in the examination system.
Sonu was scheduled to perform at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka on July 25 as part of the BOSSitivity – Sonu Nigam Remembers Rafi tribute concert. However, fans noticed on Friday morning that tickets for the event were no longer available on ticketing platforms, while promotional material only displayed the August 15 date.
When asked about the change, Sonu Nigam confirmed that the concert had indeed been postponed. Explaining the reason behind the decision, the singer said the event had been deferred “keeping the current sentiment in mind.”

The move comes just a day after a video of Sonu Nigam went viral on social media. During an event, photographers repeatedly asked him to comment on the ongoing student protests. The singer appeared uncomfortable with the questions and declined to respond, asking the media to stop before ending the interaction.
By postponing the concert, Sonu has now expressed solidarity with students during a time when the country continues to witness widespread discussions over the education system and alleged examination irregularities.
He is not the only celebrity to take such a step. Comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi has also cancelled his scheduled July 25 show at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium. Sharing the update on social media, Bassi informed fans that a new date would be announced soon and assured ticket holders that refunds would be processed.
Actor Soha Ali Khan also postponed the release of a new episode of her podcast, saying that this was a time for students’ voices to be heard. In her social media post, she wrote that students were fighting for a system that had failed them and that their voices deserved the spotlight over those of public figures.
The student movement, which began over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination, has drawn support from several celebrities in recent weeks. Many have urged authorities to ensure transparency, accountability, and meaningful reforms while expressing solidarity with students seeking justice.
