Abhishek Bachchan recently opened up about his 14-year-old daughter Aaradhya Bachchan’s love for music and revealed that she has introduced him to several popular Gen Z singers, including Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo.
The actor shared that during a family summer holiday abroad, Aaradhya took him to an Ariana Grande concert. Although Abhishek admitted that he did not know even one of Ariana’s songs before attending the concert, he was completely impressed by her voice and the energy of her fans.
Speaking to BBC Asian Network, Abhishek praised Ariana’s singing and said he was amazed by the massive fandom surrounding today’s young music stars.
He also admitted that people from his generation can sometimes be hesitant about listening to new-age artists, especially names like Taylor Swift. However, after experiencing the music himself, he believes the younger generation is creating some genuinely great music.
Aaradhya Has an Eclectic Taste in Music
Abhishek also spoke about Aaradhya’s interesting and diverse taste in music. With a 14-year-old at home, he said there is naturally a lot of Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande playing around the house.
However, what makes him happy is that Aaradhya is not limited to only contemporary pop music. She also enjoys music from older generations and has started discovering legendary rock bands.
The proud father revealed that Aaradhya has been getting into bands such as Bon Jovi, Van Halen and Metallica. He jokingly said that this makes him feel “safe” because he does not have to spend all his time listening to only the music popular among Gen Z.
Abhishek Is Enjoying Discovering New Music With Aaradhya
For Abhishek, Aaradhya’s musical choices have become a way for him to discover artists he may not have explored on his own. Her love for both modern pop and classic rock has also created a fun connection between father and daughter.
While Aaradhya is introducing him to the biggest names in today’s music scene, Abhishek can also share some of the music he grew up listening to.
The actor’s comments offer a sweet glimpse into his relationship with Aaradhya. Despite being one of Bollywood’s most famous families, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have generally kept their daughter away from unnecessary media attention and allowed her to grow up largely away from the spotlight.
Now 14, Aaradhya is developing her own interests, and Abhishek seems more than happy to discover them alongside her.
