A Chandigarh district court has issued summons to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and the directors of Style and Content Jewellery Pvt. Ltd. in connection with a cheating complaint related to a Being Human jewellery showroom in Manimajra.
According to the complaint, businessman Arun Gupta alleged that he invested nearly ₹3 crore in the showroom after being assured that the venture had strong business potential and would generate good returns. However, he claims that the business failed to perform as promised, resulting in significant financial losses.
The complainant has accused the parties of misleading him into making the investment. Based on the complaint, the Chandigarh district court has now directed Salman Khan, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and the company’s directors to appear before the court on October 5 and file their replies.
The case is linked to a Being Human jewellery showroom that operated in Manimajra, Chandigarh. Arun Gupta has alleged that he entered the business after receiving assurances about the brand’s reputation and future prospects. He claims that despite making a substantial investment, the venture did not succeed, leading to heavy losses.
It is important to note that the court has only issued summons at this stage as part of the legal process. The allegations made in the complaint have not been proven in court, and no findings have been made regarding the merits of the case.
The issuance of summons does not amount to a determination of guilt. It is a procedural step that allows the accused to appear before the court and present their side of the matter.
Salman Khan and Alvira Khan Agnihotri have not publicly responded to the latest development so far. The matter is expected to come up for hearing on October 5, when the accused have been directed to appear and submit their replies.
As the legal proceedings continue, the case will be decided based on the evidence and arguments presented before the court.
