Veteran actor Rajesh Sharma remains under close medical observation after suffering a serious medical emergency following a suspected insect bite on the sets of Prabhas’ upcoming film Fauji. The incident has sparked widespread concern, with the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) demanding a high-level investigation into the safety standards at the shooting location.

According to a statement shared by actor Sudipa Chatterjee on behalf of Sharma’s family, the incident took place at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad after the day’s shoot had ended. Rajesh was reportedly chatting with local technicians near a densely vegetated area when he felt what is believed to have been an insect or poisonous spider bite. As the bite initially appeared harmless, he did not seek immediate medical attention.

However, nearly six hours later, his condition began to deteriorate. He experienced severe pain in his right leg and later developed a high fever while travelling back to Kolkata. After landing, he was rushed to Manipal Hospital in Dhakuria, where doctors admitted him for emergency treatment.

Doctors have confirmed that the infection spread rapidly from his toes to his knee, causing large blisters on his leg. Rajesh Sharma continues to remain under close observation, with medical experts monitoring him carefully due to concerns that complications could lead to a dangerous blood clot if not controlled in time.

Following the incident, AICWA strongly questioned whether proper workplace safety measures and emergency medical facilities were available on the Fauji set. The association asked why the actor was not immediately taken to a reputed hospital in Hyderabad after his condition started worsening and whether all mandatory health and safety protocols were being followed during the shoot.

AICWA President Er. Suresh Shyamlal Gupta stated that the incident raises serious concerns about hygiene, sanitation, and emergency preparedness at film sets. The association said it has repeatedly highlighted unsafe working conditions in the film industry and stressed that the safety of artists and crew members should never be compromised.

The association has now urged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to order a thorough investigation into the incident. It has requested the government to determine whether there was any negligence by the production team or the makers of Fauji. AICWA also demanded strict legal action if any safety lapses are found during the inquiry.

In addition, the association has called on the producers of Fauji to bear the full cost of Rajesh Sharma’s medical treatment until he makes a complete recovery. It emphasized that every artist, technician, and worker deserves a safe working environment with proper medical support readily available.

Meanwhile, Rajesh Sharma’s family has expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support they have received from fans, colleagues, the media, and members of the film industry. They also thanked actor Prosenjit Chatterjee for standing by the family during this difficult time.

The incident has once again brought attention to the need for stronger safety protocols and emergency healthcare facilities on film sets, reminding the industry that the well-being of its artists and crew must always come before production schedules.
