Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured that those responsible for the alleged NEET paper leak and examination irregularities will face strict legal action, while urging National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders to reassure students that their future remains a priority for the government.
Speaking at the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday, the Prime Minister is reported to have told party lawmakers to actively engage with young people and address their concerns amid the ongoing protests over alleged paper leaks and issues in the examination system.
According to people present at the meeting, PM Modi said that students should be given confidence that their interests will be protected and that the government is committed to ensuring fairness in the country’s examination process.
He also reportedly stated that those arrested in connection with the paper leak cases would receive the strictest punishment under the law. At the same time, he urged party leaders to make students aware of what he described as attempts by the Opposition to politicise the issue.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come as protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) continue across the country, with students demanding accountability over alleged examination irregularities and reforms in the education system. The issue has also become a major point of confrontation during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, with the Opposition repeatedly raising the matter inside and outside the House.
During the NDA meeting, PM Modi also spoke about the country’s recent achievements and encouraged lawmakers to communicate these developments to the public.
Later, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju briefed the media and described the meeting as productive. He said the Prime Minister discussed India’s recent successes, including the signing of several Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), and offered guidance to NDA MPs on various national issues.
Rijiju also said PM Modi assured lawmakers that the interests of Indian farmers would remain protected in every international trade agreement signed by the government, stressing that no FTA would compromise the welfare of the country’s farming community.
The meeting also welcomed newly elected Rajya Sabha members, including BJP president Nitin Nabin, who attended the parliamentary party gathering for the first time after taking charge as the party’s national president.
As the debate over examination reforms continues to dominate national politics, the Prime Minister’s assurance of strict action against those involved in paper leaks is expected to remain at the centre of the government’s response to the growing concerns among students across the country.
