Actor Manjari Fadnis has shared a deeply emotional video alleging that a community dog named Mikey was brutally killed in a Mumbai housing society. The actress, known for her love for animals, broke down while talking about the incident and called for stricter laws against animal cruelty.

According to Manjari, Mikey had been a familiar and beloved part of the society since 2019-2020. When the dog suddenly went missing, residents put up posters and searched for him, hoping he would return safely. However, what they later learned left them devastated.

In a social media post, the actress claimed that Mikey had been “brutally murdered” and vowed to fight for justice.

“Our Mikey was brutally murdered and we are going to fight for him. This should never happen to any dog ever again in any society anywhere. People should be scared to hurt an animal. We need stronger laws against animal cruelty,” she wrote.

Manjari also thanked those who have supported the campaign for justice, including fellow animal lovers, members of her society and the local police officials who are assisting in the matter.

In the emotional video, the actress described the alleged sequence of events based on what she said had been confessed by some individuals connected to the case. She claimed that Mikey was sleeping in the basement when he was attacked and suffered severe injuries.

The actress said the dog became disoriented after the assault and alleged that he was dragged to another area where he was attacked again. Fighting back tears, Manjari recalled the horrific details and said that the incident has left the entire community heartbroken.

Remembering Mikey, she described him as a gentle and affectionate dog who was loved by many residents. She shared that people in the society often took him home to feed, bathe and care for him.

“He was such a happy boy,” she said, struggling to hold back her emotions before ending the video with the heartbreaking words, “He’s gone.”

The incident has triggered outrage on social media, with many users demanding a thorough investigation and stronger action against cruelty towards animals. Several animal welfare supporters have also joined the call for stricter enforcement of existing laws and harsher punishment for those found guilty of harming stray and community animals.

On the professional front, Manjari Fadnis was last seen in Pune Highway, released in 2025.
