Vindu Dara Singh Praises ‘Ramayana’ Teaser but Warns Makers Against Deviating from the Original
Actor Vindu Dara Singh has shared his candid reaction to the teaser of the upcoming film Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor. While he lauded the film’s grand visuals and cinematic scale, he also issued a strong word of caution, emphasizing the importance of staying true to the original epic.
Speaking about the teaser, Vindu expressed admiration for its visual appeal, calling it “spectacular” and “very beautiful.” However, he highlighted the lasting impact of Ramanand Sagar’s iconic television adaptation of Ramayana, which, according to him, remains deeply ingrained in the hearts and minds of audiences.
“Jo Ramayan Ramanand Sagar ji ki bani hai, woh hum sabke dil-o-dimaag mein poori tarah se fit hai. Woh historic hai, number one hai. Agar yeh picture uske saath match ho gayi, then it will be a superhit—a record-breaking hit,” he said.
At the same time, the actor cautioned filmmakers against making excessive creative changes. He stressed that any significant deviation from the established narrative or portrayal of characters could lead to audience rejection.
“Kuch bhi deviation agar ki, jaise is mein woh khatarnaak (asur) se dikh rahe hai, toh agar zyada upar-neeche kiya, people will not accept it,” he warned, pointing out that audiences hold strong emotional and cultural connections with the story.
Vindu also drew a comparison with the recent film Adipurush, which faced heavy criticism for its interpretation of the epic. Sharing his blunt opinion, he remarked that the new Ramayana already looks far better in comparison.
“Yeh jitna bhi dekha hai, usse to bahut better lag rahi hai. Woh toh pata nahi kya tha. Main trailer dekh ke samaj gaya tha ki yeh flop hogi. Kya hi chal raha tha. You can’t deviate so much and have Hanuman ji saying all these dialogues,” he added.
The upcoming Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor in a pivotal role, has already generated significant buzz among audiences. With high expectations surrounding the project, Vindu Dara Singh’s remarks reflect a broader sentiment among fans who hope the film balances modern cinematic grandeur with authenticity and respect for the timeless epic.
As anticipation builds, all eyes are now on the makers to deliver a version that honors tradition while appealing to contemporary viewers.
