Actor Satendra Soni, best known for his role in Laapataa Ladies, has levelled serious allegations against a film production team in Madhya Pradesh, claiming he was not paid his full dues and was allegedly threatened after raising concerns about pending payment. The actor shared his experience through an emotional video on social media, which has since sparked widespread discussion in the entertainment industry.
Allegations of Non-Payment After Shoot
According to Satendra Soni, he was hired for a 10-day shooting schedule and had already completed eight days of work when the dispute reportedly began. He stated that he was given an advance payment of ₹50,000 before the shoot started, but the remaining amount was not paid as agreed.
The actor alleged that when he approached the production team regarding his pending dues, the situation escalated, and he was asked to leave the set prematurely. He claimed that instead of resolving the payment issue, he was removed from the shoot.
Serious Claim of Threat During Dispute
In a shocking claim, Satendra Soni further alleged that the situation turned threatening when he insisted on being paid. He stated in his video that the film’s director-producer allegedly threatened him with physical harm if he did not immediately vacate the hotel where he was staying during the shoot.
These allegations have raised concerns about working conditions and contractual safety for actors working in smaller film productions, particularly in regional cinema.
Video Sparks Industry Reactions
After the video went viral, several social media users and members of the film fraternity expressed concern over the seriousness of the allegations. Many questioned the lack of formal protections for artists working on independent or regional film projects, where contracts and payment structures are sometimes less regulated.
The incident has reignited conversations about transparency, accountability, and fair treatment of actors and crew members on film sets.
