Fans waiting for Shraddha Kapoor’s upcoming film Eetha may have to wait a little longer or get an earlier surprise, as reports suggest that the makers are reconsidering the film’s release date.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on August 28. However, according to reports, production house Maddock Films is now planning to revise the release schedule, and an official announcement regarding the new date is expected soon.
Makers Looking To Avoid Box Office Clash
The reported date change is said to be linked to the film’s potential clash with Yash’s much-awaited Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups, which is scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 26.
With both films targeting a similar audience, the makers of Eetha are reportedly considering shifting the release date to avoid a direct box office battle and ensure the film gets a better theatrical run.
A source reportedly told Bollywood Hungama, “The producers – Maddock Films – are wondering whether to prepone the release or postpone. However, it is clear that they don’t plan to bring the film on the original release date – August 28. In a few days, they are expected to make an official announcement on the change of release date.”
Shraddha Kapoor’s New Project Creates Buzz
Eetha has already created excitement among fans as it marks another collaboration between Shraddha Kapoor and filmmaker Laxman Utekar. The actress, known for films like Stree, Aashiqui 2 and Chhichhore, will be seen in a fresh avatar in the upcoming project.
Laxman Utekar has previously impressed audiences with films such as Mimi, Luka Chuppi and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, making expectations high for his next release.
