Zayed Khan Recalls ‘Main Hoon Na’ Set Incident That Sparked Clash Rumours with Farah Khan
Actor Zayed Khan recently revisited an intense moment from the sets of Main Hoon Na that may have fueled long-standing rumours of a clash with director Farah Khan. Despite speculation over the years, Zayed clarified that the overall environment during the shoot remained warm and deeply collaborative.
In a candid conversation with Zoom, Zayed described the physically demanding conditions under which one of the film’s sequences was shot. “We were shooting on celluloid, and the camera was panning towards me. We had already done multiple takes,” he shared. The actor emphasized the difficulty of performing at high altitudes, where low oxygen levels and exhaustion added to the challenge.
The situation escalated when a background dancer suddenly collapsed mid-shoot. “I stopped and tried to help him,” Zayed recalled. What followed became the crux of the reported tension. According to the actor, someone suggested continuing the dance sequence around the fallen performer—a suggestion he strongly opposed.
Zayed then called out “cut” to halt the shoot, which reportedly led to a sharp reaction from Farah Khan. “Nobody says cut on my set,” she responded, as per Zayed’s recollection. Concerned for the dancer’s well-being, Zayed stood his ground. The exchange intensified, with Farah warning him against overstepping boundaries on set.
While the moment may have appeared heated, Zayed was quick to downplay any lasting conflict. He stressed that such incidents were isolated and did not define the overall experience of making the film. In fact, he fondly remembered the camaraderie shared among the cast, which included stars like Shah Rukh Khan and others.
“We were like a family,” he said. “Every weekend, we’d gather and mimic people for hours. It was madness, but it helped everyone bond. There was never a dull moment.”
Released in 2004, Main Hoon Na remains a beloved Bollywood entertainer, known not just for its music and performances but also for the strong relationships forged behind the scenes—despite the occasional moment of tension that comes with filmmaking.
