Diljit Dosanjh Slams ‘Fake Narratives’ After Pro-Khalistan Flag Protest at Canada Concert
Diljit Dosanjh addressed a recent disruption during his Aura Tour concert in Calgary, Canada, where pro-Khalistani protesters waved flags, prompting him to halt the show and direct security to remove them. On May 11, 2026, via Instagram Stories, he clarified his stance in Punjabi: “Standing outside and protesting—anyone can do that. But if you try to come inside and harass my fans, that will not be tolerated.” He stressed that supportive banners represent pride, but abusive intent crosses the line, adding, “This is not about any banner or flag—the real issue is your intention behind it. I told security that anyone trying to disrupt the program should be picked up and thrown out. I never said anything against any banner, so don’t spread fake narratives. I’ve been avoiding this issue since last year—but not anymore. Thank you. Love & peace.”
Roots in KBC 17 Controversy
The incident echoes backlash from October 2025, when Diljit’s appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17—where he touched host Amitabh Bachchan’s feet and was called “Punjab da puttar” for flood relief efforts—drew threats from Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). SFJ leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun accused Diljit of disrespecting 1984 Sikh Genocide victims, falsely linking Amitabh to incitement via “Khoon Ka Badla Khoon,” which Amitabh has denied. SFJ vowed to disrupt his shows, but Diljit responded with unity: “I will always keep talking about love… My Guru says, ‘Ik Onkar.’ This Earth is one… only love from my side for everyone.”

Consistent Message of Peace
Throughout his global tour, including prior Vancouver disruptions, Diljit has emphasized Punjab’s representation over personal gain, pausing performances to confront protests while prioritizing fan safety. He maintains his focus remains on love, rejecting division amid ongoing debates.
