Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has extended his support to the people of Assam by joining a flood relief initiative aimed at helping families who lost their homes in the devastating floods. Through the ‘AASHIYANA – Hope Begins With A Safe Shelter’ campaign, the actor is supporting efforts to provide safe and secure housing to those displaced by the natural disaster.
The initiative focuses on rebuilding lives by constructing homes for families who have been left without shelter after weeks of severe flooding. The campaign has already begun work on the ground, offering hope to hundreds of affected families who are trying to recover from one of the worst flood situations in the region.
According to reports, construction work is already underway in Nepali Khuti, where the first phase of the project has seen around 220 semi-permanent houses completed. These homes have been designed to provide immediate shelter while ensuring better safety and stability for families rebuilding their lives.
The larger goal of the campaign is to construct 500 homes for flood-affected families across the region. The project aims not only to provide a roof over people’s heads but also to help them regain a sense of security and normalcy after losing their homes and belongings to the floods.
