As excitement builds for Alia Bhatt’s action thriller Alpha, her mother Soni Razdan shared a heartfelt family post that has touched many on social media. Instead of focusing only on the film, Soni chose to celebrate the incredible journey of her 97-year-old mother, Gertrude Hoelzer, calling her the family’s “original Alpha woman.”
Soni posted a rare four-generation family photograph featuring herself, her mother Gertrude, daughters Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt, along with little Raha Kapoor, whose face was covered with an emoji. A close family friend also appeared in the picture.
Explaining why the post was so special, Soni revealed the remarkable story of her mother’s early life. She shared that Gertrude was just six years old when her family fled Nazi Germany during World War II.
Although the family was not Jewish, they were forced to escape because Gertrude’s father openly opposed Adolf Hitler and his regime. After spending several difficult years in Czechoslovakia, they eventually escaped to the United Kingdom on a Jewish Kindertransport train, surviving one of history’s darkest chapters.
Soni wrote that her mother faced numerous hardships before finally finding stability. Years later, Gertrude met and married N.N. Razdan and began a new life in India, where she built a family that now spans four generations.

Calling her mother an inspiration, Soni said women like her are the true “Alpha women.” She added that strength comes in many forms and that mothers and grandmothers often display extraordinary courage without seeking recognition.
She also encouraged her followers to share stories of the strong women in their own families, saying such women deserve to be celebrated every day.
The emotional post comes just ahead of the release of Alpha, which marks a major milestone in Alia Bhatt’s career. The film sees Alia step into the world of high-octane action as part of Yash Raj Films’ popular Spy Universe.
The recently released trailer showcases Alia in a powerful action-packed role alongside Sharvari, with Bobby Deol playing the antagonist. Anil Kapoor also features in an important role, while Hrithik Roshan makes a special appearance as his iconic character Kabir from War, connecting Alpha to the larger spy franchise.
Alpha is the seventh film in the YRF Spy Universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3, and War 2. After multiple release delays due to extensive visual effects work, the film is finally set to hit theatres.
