Veteran producer R. B. Choudary, who died in a tragic road accident in Rajasthan on May 5, is being remembered across the film industry for his immense contribution to Indian cinema.
Paying an emotional tribute, superstar Rajinikanth recalled how RB Choudary had personally approached him to star in his milestone 100th production — a dream project that now remains unfinished.
Rajinikanth Recalls RB Choudary’s Dream 100th Film
Speaking about his long friendship with the producer, Rajinikanth revealed that RB Choudary had recently met him during the shooting of Jailer at Adityaram Studios.
As quoted by ANI, Rajinikanth said:
“He came and told me that he had completed 99 films. He asked me to act in his 100th film and said he had two or three story scripts ready for me.”
The actor added that he had assured the producer he would definitely be a part of the landmark project.
Although Rajinikanth never acted in any of RB Choudary’s productions, he described him as one of his closest friends in the industry.
“A Great Soul and Exceptional Producer”: Rajinikanth
Remembering the producer’s personality and work ethic, Rajinikanth praised RB Choudary for supporting countless filmmakers, technicians and workers throughout his career.
“RB Choudary was a great man who introduced many directors and contributed immensely to the film industry,” Rajinikanth said.
He also highlighted how the producer handled film production challenges calmly and practically.
“Even if any issue arose, he would personally step in, solve it directly, calmly have a cup of coffee, and move on.”
Rajinikanth further recalled a personal conversation in which he had asked RB Choudary how he always remained happy and stress-free despite producing so many films.
According to the actor, the producer replied that he never took unnecessary risks and always worked within his limits before leaving the results “in God’s hands.”
Plans Were Being Made to Honour RB Choudary
Rajinikanth also revealed that filmmaker K. S. Ravikumar had recently discussed organising a grand appreciation event to celebrate RB Choudary’s contribution to cinema.
The producer, known for backing numerous successful projects across South Indian cinema, had completed 99 films during his legendary career.
His planned 100th film with Rajinikanth was expected to become a major cinematic event.
How RB Choudary Died in Rajasthan Accident
According to ANI reports, R. B. Choudary died in a road accident near Joontha village in Rajasthan’s Bewar district on Tuesday. He was 76.
The producer was reportedly travelling with his nephew after attending a relative’s wedding ceremony in Lilamba village.
During the journey, cattle suddenly strayed onto the road, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The car crashed into a roadside wall, and the impact proved fatal.
RB Choudary reportedly died on the spot.
