Rakul Preet Singh has finally addressed the recent Income Tax searches linked to reports mentioning her name. The actor took to Instagram to issue a detailed clarification, saying that the search was not pertaining to her and expressing disappointment over what she described as sensationalised reporting.

Rakul said that some online reporters and sections of the mainstream media had discussed the matter without properly verifying the facts. She urged people to look at the facts before drawing conclusions about her.

In her statement, Rakul made it clear that the recent Income Tax action was not directed at her. She also spoke about her personal background and said that she comes from an Armed Forces family and entered the film industry without a godfather.

The actor stressed that she has built her career through hard work and has always considered herself a responsible, law-abiding citizen. She also said that she has been paying her taxes since she was 20.

Her statement came after reports surrounding the Income Tax searches began circulating online, with her name being linked to the development.

Actor Denies Illegal Foreign Remittance

Rakul strongly denied any involvement in illegal foreign remittances. She clarified that she has not been involved in any such activity either personally or on behalf of any production house.

She also denied holding any benami properties, whether in India or abroad.

The actor’s statement appeared aimed at putting an end to speculation connecting her with financial irregularities.

She firmly rejected those claims, saying that nobody has ever gifted her any property and that she does not accept expensive gifts as a matter of principle.
