Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi has been issued fresh summons by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court in connection with the ₹200 crore extortion case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The actress has been directed to appear before the court on November 6 to record her testimony as a prosecution witness.
The latest development comes after Nora reportedly failed to appear during a previous hearing. Her lawyer had requested an exemption from personal appearance, but the court expressed displeasure over her absence. The judge also cautioned the actress against taking court proceedings lightly, reportedly remarking, “Don’t take the court for granted.”
What Is the ₹200 Crore Extortion Case?
The high-profile case revolves around allegations that Sukesh Chandrashekhar extorted approximately ₹200 crore from Aditi Singh, the wife of former Ranbaxy promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh.
According to the allegations, the extortion took place during 2020–21, when Sukesh was lodged in Delhi’s Rohini Jail. The case has attracted considerable attention due to the alleged scale of the extortion and the names of several prominent individuals that have emerged during the investigation.
Nora Fatehi’s Connection to the Case
Nora Fatehi was previously questioned by the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) over her alleged association with Sukesh Chandrashekhar and his wife, Leena Maria Paulose.
During questioning, the actress reportedly told investigators that her interactions with Sukesh took place through his wife. Nora’s name has since been linked to the investigation, and she is now expected to appear before the court to give her testimony as a prosecution witness.
Her upcoming appearance is part of the legal proceedings in the extortion case. Being summoned as a prosecution witness does not, by itself, mean that the actress has been found guilty of any wrongdoing.
Court Directs Nora Fatehi to Appear on November 6
With fresh summons issued, Nora has been asked to appear before the Rouse Avenue Court on November 6. The court’s reported warning following her absence has brought renewed attention to the case.
The proceedings are expected to continue as the court records the testimony of witnesses in the matter. Nora’s appearance will be closely watched as the investigation and legal process surrounding the alleged ₹200 crore extortion case move forward.
