Violence Erupts During Workers’ Protest in Noida Industrial Areas; Police Arrest Over 350

Tensions flared across industrial sectors in Noida after workers’ protests over wage hike demands escalated into widespread violence, including arson, vandalism, and stone-pelting incidents.

The unrest, which began as a demonstration over salary-related grievances, quickly turned volatile, prompting a large-scale police response. Authorities reported that several industrial zones witnessed damage to property as the situation spiralled out of control.

Uttar Pradesh Labour Minister Anil Rajbhar described the violence as a “well-planned conspiracy” and stated that agencies are investigating a possible external angle, including a suspected Pakistan link, in connection with recent terror-related arrests in Noida and Meerut.

Law enforcement agencies have arrested around 350 individuals so far and detained more than 100 others for questioning. Multiple FIRs have been registered across affected areas as investigations continue.

Uttar Pradesh Police has deployed heavy security personnel across key industrial zones to restore order and prevent further escalation. Officials confirmed that CCTV footage from the affected areas is being closely examined to identify those involved in the violence.

Despite the scale of the unrest, authorities stated that the situation is gradually being brought under control, though security remains heightened as a precautionary measure.

Further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the escalation and to verify claims regarding any organised involvement behind the protests turning violent.
