Kareena Kapoor Khan has opened up about the kind of future she wants for her sons, Taimur and Jeh. The actor said she wants both her children to have the freedom to choose their own careers instead of feeling pressured to follow their parents into the film industry.
In a conversation with Hanuman Das, Kareena revealed that Taimur is currently very interested in sports and has already started talking about becoming a cricketer or footballer.
“He says he wants to be a footballer or cricketer because right now he is so much into sports. I said, ‘If that’s what you want to do, then you have to make it happen.’ We have to guide him in the right direction,” Kareena said.
The actor added that Taimur could always change his mind as he grows older, and she would be completely supportive of that decision. According to Kareena, being born into a film family does not mean her children have to become actors.
“Who knows, maybe he changes his mind down the road, which is fine. It’s not like because he comes from a film family, he has to be an actor. We can just offer him the experience,” she explained.
Kareena also spoke about her own childhood and how different her interests were from Taimur’s. She said she was never particularly interested in cricket or football, although she enjoyed swimming a lot. From a young age, however, she knew that she wanted to play different characters and become an actor.
“I was not ever into cricket or football, but I enjoyed swimming a lot. As I said, I have always wanted to play characters and become an actor. That’s what I knew from Taimur’s age,” she said.
Kareena’s comments show that she wants Taimur and Jeh to grow up with the freedom to explore their own interests. While both children come from one of Bollywood’s most famous families, the actor believes their future should be based on what they genuinely enjoy rather than their family background.
Taimur’s current love for football and cricket also reflects his growing interest in sports, something that appears to be different from Kareena’s own childhood interests. Whether he eventually chooses sports, films or an entirely different career remains to be seen.
For now, Kareena seems happy to support her son’s dreams and give him the confidence to make his own choices.
