The sudden death of young television actor Sanchita Ugale has left the entertainment industry in shock. As friends, co-stars and fans continue to mourn her loss, her Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi co-star Sorab Bedi has shared an emotional memory that has made the tragedy even more heartbreaking.
Speaking to the media, Sorab revealed that he had spoken to Sanchita just two days before her death and that they were planning to meet soon.
“I got to know about the incident this morning. She must have been distressed. I talked to her two days ago. I will visit her home and meet her family too,” Sorab said, struggling to come to terms with the news.
Earlier, Sorab had also paid tribute to Sanchita on social media. Sharing a poster from their show Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi on his Instagram Stories, he wrote, “No Chotttuuuu. You were, you are and you’ll always be my favourite. Gonna miss you.”

His emotional message touched many fans, who remembered the bond the two actors shared while working together.

Sanchita Ugale had been steadily building her career in the television industry. She gained recognition for playing Diya Tandon in Zee TV’s popular show Kumkum Bhagya and later appeared as Ruchita Jaitley in Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kisse.
She also stepped into lead roles with Dangal TV’s Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi, where she starred opposite Sorab Bedi as Sukoon. Apart from television, Sanchita worked in films as well, including Chhaava, where she portrayed the younger version of Tara Rani, and Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout.
According to police officials, Sanchita allegedly died by suicide on June 14 at her residence in Sai Santoshi Building in Aachole Village, Nalasopara East. She was 22 years old.
Police said she had allegedly locked herself inside her bedroom and was later found hanging from a ceiling fan. Family members and local residents rushed her to Vasai-Virar Municipal Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Following a complaint filed by her father, Achole Police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
The tragedy has deeply affected the television fraternity. Many actors and colleagues have expressed grief over the loss of someone they remember as cheerful, hardworking and full of dreams.
