Hanuman Ansh has turned into one of the biggest surprise successes at the Indian box office. Now in its sixth week, the devotional film has continued to attract audiences and has crossed the ₹200 crore mark worldwide despite being made on a reported budget of just ₹2 crore.
The film, which tells an underdog story rooted in devotion and spirituality, is based on the life and teachings of spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba. What makes its box-office journey even more remarkable is how quietly it began. Hanuman Ansh reportedly earned only around ₹10 lakh on its opening day and collected approximately ₹1.48 crore during its first two weeks.
However, strong word of mouth gradually changed the film’s fortunes. By its 16th day in theatres, the film reportedly started witnessing a major jump in collections as more audiences discovered it and began recommending it to others.
The film then continued its extraordinary run through its third, fourth and fifth weeks. According to the figures being discussed, Hanuman Ansh earned around ₹61 crore in its fourth week and nearly ₹90 crore in its fifth week. Its strong performance has continued into the sixth weekend as well.
The film’s reported domestic collection has now reached around ₹174 crore, while its worldwide gross is said to have crossed ₹205 crore. If these figures hold, the film has achieved an extraordinary return compared with its reported ₹2 crore production budget.
The success of Hanuman Ansh is particularly interesting because it did not begin with the kind of massive opening normally associated with big-budget Bollywood releases. Instead, its journey appears to have been driven by audience response, positive word of mouth and growing interest in its spiritual subject.
The film’s reported success has also drawn comparisons with other surprise hits, including The Kashmir Files, because of the huge gap between its modest budget and its eventual box-office performance. A film made on such a small budget reaching the ₹200 crore-plus mark is certainly an unusual achievement.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Connection
Along with its box-office success, another piece of speculation has also started surrounding Hanuman Ansh. There have been reports and fan discussions about whether Indian cricket star Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma could be associated with the upcoming part of the franchise.
The speculation has gained attention because both Virat and Anushka have openly spoken about spirituality and their personal faith, making fans curious about a possible connection with a film centred on Neem Karoli Baba and his teachings.
However, their involvement in Hanuman Ansh Part 2 has not been officially confirmed. At the moment, it remains a rumour, and fans are waiting for an official announcement from the filmmakers or the couple.
If Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma do eventually make an appearance in the film, even a special cameo could create huge excitement among audiences. Virat’s massive popularity in India and Anushka’s strong connection with the film industry could bring another level of attention to the franchise.
For now, though, the biggest story remains the film’s incredible box-office journey. From earning just around ₹10 lakh on its opening day to reportedly crossing ₹200 crore worldwide, Hanuman Ansh has proved that a film does not always need a massive budget or a huge opening to become a major success.
The question now is whether the makers will take the story forward with Part 2—and whether the much-discussed Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma connection will eventually become a reality. Fans will certainly be watching closely.
