Akanksha Chamola has reached out to Meta India for help in changing her Instagram username, which still carries a reference to her estranged husband, actor Gaurav Khanna. The actor made the request on social media after several attempts to change the username reportedly failed because of verification-related restrictions.

Akanksha shared a message on her Instagram Stories tagging Meta, Meta India and Instagram. She requested the platforms to look into the issue and guide her towards a possible solution.

Her current Instagram username is ‘akankshagkhanna’, which remains linked to Gaurav Khanna even as the couple has publicly spoken about their decision to part ways. Akanksha’s request has attracted attention because it comes shortly after she opened up about her personal life on the reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa.

During the show’s premiere, Akanksha revealed that she and Gaurav are heading towards divorce. She said that the two had been living separately for around a year before the news became public.

Akanksha explained that their relationship had not ended on bitter terms. According to her, they continued to speak to each other but had realised that they were not compatible as life partners because they wanted different things from their future.

The actress also spoke openly about their differing views on having children. Akanksha said she does not want to have a baby and does not feel that she has a maternal instinct, while Gaurav wanted to become a father.

She explained that she did not want to keep Gaurav in a relationship where he would have to give up something that was important to him. For Akanksha, the decision was therefore not simply about conflict but about recognising that both of them wanted different futures.

Akanksha and Gaurav reportedly met while auditioning and eventually began dating. They got married on November 24, 2016, in a lavish wedding celebration in Kanpur. Their marriage lasted nearly a decade before they began living separately.

Akanksha has appeared in television projects including Santoshi Maa, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Crime Patrol. Her appearance on Lock Upp brought renewed attention to her personal life, particularly after she chose to speak publicly about her marriage and separation.

Her latest request to Instagram may seem like a small social media issue, but for Akanksha, changing the username could also represent a personal step forward. With her marriage to Gaurav moving towards divorce, she appears keen to update the online identity that still carries his name.

For now, she is waiting for a response from Meta India and Instagram regarding the username change. Her post has once again sparked conversations about how even seemingly simple digital details can become complicated when personal circumstances change.
