Celina Jaitly Shares Emotional Tribute on Twins’ 14th Birthday Amid Painful Custody Battle
New Delhi: Actress Celina Jaitly opened up about her heartache on her twin sons’ 14th birthday, sharing a deeply emotional note on social media about being unable to be with them. The revelation comes amid a protracted and highly publicized legal battle following her divorce filing against husband Peter Haag in November last year.
Heartfelt Birthday Message
Sharing a series of childhood photos of her sons Winston and Viraaj, Celina wrote:
“Happy 14th, my darling Winston & Viraaj. I never imagined that I would not be able to be there… that I would not have heard your voices or seen your faces for so many months leading up to your 14th birthday.”
She reflected on the sacrifices and love of motherhood, adding:
“A mother goes through so much to bring her children into this world, to nurture them, to love them every single day… just like my mother did for me. Today, I feel that truth in every breath I take. I would do everything all over again a million times just to have you placed in my arms again.”
Celina expressed gratitude to her children, including her other sons Arthur and Shamsher, calling them her “greatest treasures & highest achievements.” She hoped that her love and prayers would reach them despite the physical distance, writing:
“Until Mama holds you again… be safe, be strong & know that everything I am doing is for our future so that we can be together again as a family. Mama loves you beyond this world.”

Divorce and Custody Struggles
Celina Jaitly filed for divorce from Peter Haag in November 2025 at a court in Andheri, citing domestic violence and abuse. She alleged that she has been denied access to her three children despite an Austrian court granting joint custody.
In a series of social media posts, she detailed her experience leaving Austria in October 2025 with the help of neighbors, calling it an escape from “systematic oppression & abuse.” Upon returning to India, Celina faced financial and legal hurdles, including court battles to access her own Mumbai residence and taking loans to cover legal expenses while her children remained in Austria.
“I Lost My Children the Day I Chose to Leave Austria to Protect My Dignity, My Children & My Brother,” she wrote, addressing the thousands who have reached out about abuse in marriages.
Obstacles to Co-Parenting
Celina alleged multiple attempts at an amicable settlement were obstructed. She claimed selective narratives and interference have influenced her children against her, preventing regular communication. She wrote:
“There has been repeated interference with my children’s access to me, including exposure to selective media narratives, resulting in obstruction of regular parent-child communication, as well as brainwashing & intimidation to compel them to say things against me.”
She also revealed that her professional achievements were dismissed in Austria, with demands that she take low-paid work merely to retain joint custody.
Legal Proceedings and Demands
According to her lawyer, Peter Haag filed for divorce in an Austrian court after Celina discovered properties being sold in Vienna without her knowledge. In response, Celina filed for custody of their three children, monthly maintenance of Rs 10 lakh, and Rs 50 crore compensation for alleged loss of earnings due to her husband. She has also sought to restrain Haag from entering her Mumbai residence.
Celina and Haag were married in 2010. They welcomed their twin boys Winston and Viraaj in March 2012. Five years later, she gave birth to a second set of twins, one of whom tragically passed away due to a hypoplastic heart.
A Mother’s Message
Despite the ongoing legal battle and distance from her children, Celina’s birthday message was a heartfelt reflection of a mother’s enduring love:
“Your lives are limitless. Everything you dream of, you can achieve. Whatever goodness life gives you, pass it on. Mama loves you beyond this world.”
