The momentum continues for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, as the sequel to last year’s record-breaking Dhurandhar keeps smashing box office records. Released on March 19, the film has already crossed the ₹200 crore mark domestically by its second day, consolidating its position as one of the highest-grossing films in recent Indian cinema.
Strong Day 2 Collections
On Friday, the Aditya Dhar directorial earned ₹80.72 crore across 20,125 shows nationwide. The Hindi version dominated, contributing ₹78.94 crore net with an impressive 64.3% occupancy across 19,025 shows. Regional versions performed modestly, with Telugu earning ₹1.30 crore (35% occupancy), Tamil ₹0.44 crore (27% occupancy), Kannada ₹0.03 crore, and Malayalam ₹0.01 crore.
While the day 2 figures represent a 21.3% drop from its blockbuster opening day of ₹102.55 crore, the film remains on a strong trajectory. Total domestic gross now stands at ₹269.39 crore, with net collections at ₹226.27 crore. Industry analysts expect the film to cross the ₹250 crore domestic mark by Saturday.
Milestones Achieved
Within just two days, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has achieved several remarkable milestones:
- Crossed the ₹150 crore mark early on Friday, surpassing lifetime collections of films like Sikandar and The Raja Saab.
- Surpassed ₹200 crore net collections, overtaking Fighter (₹212 crore nett) and trailing only War (₹236 crore nett) among recent action blockbusters.
- Globally, the film opened to ₹236.63 crore on day 1, including ₹145.55 crore from India net collections and ₹64 crore from overseas markets. Paid previews contributed ₹73.85 crore worldwide.
