Actor Supriya Pathak recently spoke candidly about her relationship with her sister, veteran actor Ratna Pathak Shah, revealing that the two once shared a distant bond that gradually grew into a deeply meaningful one. In a heartfelt conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Supriya reflected on how their relationship has evolved over the years and why she now values it so much.

Talking about the past, Supriya admitted that there was a time when the sisters were not very close. “Main aur Ratna ke beech mein ek time tha jab hamari relationship kaafi distant thi,” she said, explaining that their bond earlier lacked the closeness they share today.

However, with time, things changed. Supriya revealed that their relationship slowly transformed into one she now considers extremely special. “Lekin dheere-dheere hamare beech ek aisi bonding hogayi hai jo mujhe bahut precious lagti hai,” she added, emphasising how much the bond means to her now.

Interestingly, Supriya also shared that she feels a certain sense of fear around Ratna—but clarified that it comes from love and respect rather than distance. “Toh main unse darti hoon,” she said, explaining that she is always conscious about not doing anything that might upset her sister.

She even gave an example of how seriously she takes Ratna’s words. “Agar unhone kaha hai ki 11 baje milenge, toh main 11 baje pahunch jaungi,” Supriya said, adding that she always tries to honour her sister’s expectations.

During the conversation, Supriya’s daughter, actor Sanah Kapur, also spoke about her bond with her aunt Ratna. Sanah described Ratna as a strong and fearless personality in the family who inspires her in many ways.

“I think Maasi humse alag hain. Lekin main unse bahut seekhti hoon,” Sanah said, adding that Ratna stands up for her rights and for others. According to her, Ratna has a powerful voice and is never afraid to use it.

Sanah also admitted that while she sometimes feels scared, she is gradually learning to become more confident by observing her aunt. She even shared a lighthearted family detail, revealing that Supriya and Ratna sometimes call each other just to speak in Gujarati for an hour because they miss the language.

On the work front, Supriya Pathak has built a remarkable career with memorable performances in projects like Khichdi, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Wake Up Sid. She was last seen in the 2026 release Assi and continues to remain a beloved presence in Indian cinema and television.
