Vikramm Bhambri Opens Up on Cut Scenes in ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ but Celebrates Fan Love

Actor Vikramm Bhambri, known for his role as Shakeel Commando in the hit film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, recently spoke about his mixed feelings after the movie’s release. While the film has been a commercial success, Bhambri admitted that several of his scenes were cut from the final edit, leaving him initially disappointed.

In an interview with Times of India, Bhambri recalled being shortlisted for the role of Shakeel Commando, one of Ranveer Singh’s gang members. “At that time, I felt it sounded like a terrorist-type name. But then I told myself, at least I have a name, and I am not an extra. In theatre, we learn that if your character has a name, it means you have an important role. Later, when we started working, we were told we were gang members; we were with Ranveer. That felt really good,” he said.

The Heartbreak of Cut Scenes

Despite the excitement of being part of a major film, Bhambri expressed sadness when he saw the final cut. “When the film was released, I didn’t see as much presence and visibility as we had shot. Watching Part 1 with my parents, I felt very sad. An actor wants visibility, so I felt unsettled for a couple of days as many of my scenes, which we shot, were chopped off, maybe due to some unavoidable reasons. But that was very disappointing for me. My parents kept telling me to be thankful, but the heart doesn’t always listen,” he shared.

Fan Appreciation Lifts Spirits

The actor’s disappointment, however, was soon replaced with joy after an unexpected fan interaction. Bhambri recounted, “Then something happened; on the second day, a delivery person came and said, ‘Sir, I saw you yesterday… You are in Dhurandhar, right?’ That moment changed everything. I became the happiest person.”

This experience reinforced a valuable lesson for Bhambri: despite edits and reduced screen time, connecting with audiences remains the ultimate reward for an actor.

Looking Ahead

Bhambri’s journey highlights the ups and downs of working in high-profile films, especially in ensemble casts where screen time may be limited. While disappointed by the cuts, he continues to celebrate the film’s success and the unexpected ways it has reached viewers. His positive outlook suggests that future projects could see him in even more prominent roles, as he continues to build his career in Bollywood.

Final Take: Even when edits shrink an actor’s on-screen presence, the recognition and support from fans can make all the difference. Vikramm Bhambri’s story is a reminder that every role, no matter how brief, contributes to the bigger picture of cinematic success.
