The complaint comes days after the actors appeared together on Karan Johar’s popular talk show Koffee With Karan. Following the episode, several social media users began analysing their relationship, criticising Vijay’s behaviour towards Rashmika and questioning the couple’s proposal story.
According to a source from the actors’ team, the complaint specifically mentions several posts and accounts that allegedly spread false information about the couple.
Fake Claims About Rashmika’s Breakdown During Koffee With Karan
One of the rumours that gained attention online claimed that the shooting of Koffee With Karan had been halted for an hour after Rashmika allegedly broke down over Vijay’s behaviour.
The claim was reportedly shared through a widely circulated Reddit post, with the person behind it claiming to have inside information as a crew member. Instagram pages that reposted the rumour have also been mentioned in the complaint.
The actors’ team has reportedly taken issue with such claims, which they believe present unverified information as fact and create unnecessary speculation about their relationship.
Misleading Posts About Vijay Unfollowing Rashmika
Another claim that spread across social media suggested that Vijay had unfollowed Rashmika after the episode aired, with some accounts using it to speculate about a possible rift between the couple.
However, the complaint reportedly points out that Vijay has never followed anyone on social media. Despite this, several pages allegedly used the claim to suggest that another breakup or divorce was on the way.
Some posts also claimed that Vijay was being targeted by feminists after the couple shared details about their proposal story. These posts have reportedly been included in the complaint as well.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh Also Dragged Into the Controversy
The online discussion also brought up Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s much-talked-about appearance on Koffee With Karan in October 2023.
Deepika had spoken about taking time before marrying Ranveer, while Vijay revealed that he also took time before saying yes after Rashmika proposed to him.
Several X and Instagram accounts reportedly drew comparisons between the two couples. According to the complaint, some of the posts went beyond criticism and included offensive comments and sexual remarks directed at Vijay, Rashmika and Deepika.
AI-Generated Content and Mockery of Their Proposal Story
The complaint also reportedly addresses the circulation of AI-generated content involving Vijay and Rashmika. Some social media accounts allegedly used details from the couple’s love story to mock Vijay, including claims that Rashmika had to propose to him 100 times.
The actors’ team has reportedly identified specific posts that they believe use derogatory language and misrepresent their relationship.
Team Virosh Says Complaint Is Not Against Genuine Criticism
Following the complaint, Team Virosh released a statement clarifying its position. The team said it respects freedom of speech, individual opinions and the right to express criticism.
However, it stressed that there is a difference between sharing an opinion and presenting fabricated, manipulated or materially misleading claims as facts.
The statement also clarified that the complaint was not intended to stop genuine criticism, but to seek accountability for allegedly false and misleading content.

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna got engaged in Hyderabad in October last year and married in Udaipur in February this year. The couple recently starred together in Rahul Sankrityan’s period action film Ranabaali.
