Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has once again found herself at the center of controversy after sharing a strongly worded Instagram Story targeting what she described as a section of “westernised” young Hindu women. Her latest remarks have sparked fresh debate on social media, coming just days after her comments on the viral Gen Z protest videos linked to the NEET paper leak demonstrations.
In her Instagram Story, Kangana argued that true independence comes with responsibility and accountability. According to her, women who are genuinely independent earn their freedom through hard work, financial stability, and the courage to face the consequences of their decisions.
She wrote that independent women make bold career choices, express strong opinions, and take responsibility for their actions instead of depending on their families. Kangana claimed that some young women, however, seek the freedom associated with an independent lifestyle without making the effort to become self-reliant.
The actress went on to describe this section of women as “generation gutter,” alleging that they glorify partying, drinking, drug use, and casual relationships while continuing to rely on their parents for financial support. She also claimed that many demand complete independence without accepting the responsibilities that come with it.
Kangana concluded her message by saying that freedom must be earned and that living independently without accountability creates what she called a “distorted” lifestyle. She urged young people to understand that real independence is built through responsibility rather than entitlement.
Her latest remarks come shortly after she criticized the viral Gen Z protest reels that surfaced during the NEET paper leak protests. At the time, Kangana had described the videos as “ugliness” and claimed they left her wanting a digital detox. She also alleged that the demonstrations left behind large amounts of waste at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, further fueling online discussions.
As expected, Kangana’s latest Instagram Story has divided social media. While some users agreed with her views on responsibility and self-reliance, others criticized the language she used, calling it harsh and unnecessarily offensive.
On the professional front, Kangana was recently seen in Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, directed by Manoj Tapadia. The film is based on the real-life story of the nurses and hospital staff at Mumbai’s Cama Hospital who protected patients during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
