Salman Khan’s production house, Salman Khan Films (SKF), has dismissed recent reports suggesting that the upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace is facing trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). In a clear statement shared on its official Instagram Stories, the banner called the rumours completely false and baseless, adding that the film has not even been submitted to the CBFC for certification yet. With this, the production house has put an end to speculation that the project was stalled or facing any kind of approval issues.
The rumours had claimed that the film was withheld by the CBFC, leading to uncertainty around its release schedule and suggesting that the makers were struggling to meet their planned August release. However, SKF clarified that these reports have no basis in fact and urged media platforms and individuals to avoid circulating unverified information. The production house also made it clear that any official updates regarding the film will only be shared through their verified channels.

Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace, which was earlier titled Battle of Galwan, has been in the news due to its subject and creative changes during production. The film is reportedly inspired by the Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese forces, but over time, the makers have shifted the focus of the story. Reports suggest that references to China and the Galwan Valley were removed as the narrative evolved into a more emotional and human-centric story.
Director Apoorva Lakhia had earlier explained the reason behind the title change, saying it was not a sudden decision but part of the film’s journey. He shared that the story goes beyond a battlefield and focuses more on themes of humanity, empathy, and the emotional struggles faced by soldiers. According to him, the new title better reflects the soul of the film, especially since a song with the same name has also received a strong response.
With SKF now clarifying the situation, all rumours regarding CBFC trouble stand dismissed. The film is yet to be submitted for certification, and further official updates regarding its release are expected from the makers in the coming months.
