Content creator Shresta Iyer, who recently became the first contestant to be eliminated from Lock Upp 2, has opened up about her close bond with her brother, Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer. In a candid interview, she revealed that several girls had tried to become friends with her only to get closer to the cricket star.
During a conversation with Filmygyan, Shresta was asked if she had ever experienced people befriending her because of Shreyas. She admitted that it had happened on multiple occasions.
“Many girls have tried it, but I understood their intention, and at that point, I used to distance myself from them,” she said.
Shresta also described herself as a very protective sister, saying she always wants the best for her brother. While she believes the final decision about his life partner will always be Shreyas’ own, she hopes he will seek her opinion before making such an important choice.
“I am very possessive about my brother. I want the right girl for him. Obviously, he will choose the girl, but I hope he asks for my opinion too,” she shared.
Explaining why she feels her opinion matters, Shresta said women are often better at understanding the intentions of other women. Just as men can judge the intentions of other men, she believes women can sense when someone’s motives may not be genuine.
Apart from speaking about her relationship with Shreyas, Shresta also reflected on her journey in Lock Upp 2. Although she became the first contestant to be evicted, she said she was happy to return home to her family.
She recently shared a heartwarming video on social media showing her surprise return home. As soon as her family saw her walk in with her suitcase, they welcomed her with cheers and dancing, making for an emotional reunion.
Sharing the video, Shresta wrote, “Very happy to be back home right where I truly belong.”
Fans also showered her with love after her elimination. Many praised her for staying true to herself throughout the show and appreciated her positive attitude despite her early exit.
Shresta entered Lock Upp 2 with the goal of creating her own identity beyond being known as Shreyas Iyer’s sister. While her journey on the reality show may have been short, her honest personality and candid conversations have helped her connect with viewers.
