Television actor Shilpa Shinde recently opened up about one of the most painful phases of her life on the reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa. Known for her bold personality and outspoken nature, Shilpa left viewers emotional after sharing a deeply personal confession about her family struggles and life after being separated from her home.
During the latest episode, Shilpa was asked to reveal a secret after her fellow contestant Shivangi Joshi exposed her hidden truth, putting her at risk in the show. While speaking about her personal journey, Shilpa revealed that despite having a family, she often feels alone.
“People talk about family, but some people don’t have a family. I have a family, yet I feel like an orphan,” Shilpa said emotionally. She clarified that she was not sharing her story for sympathy but only speaking about her reality.
The actor revealed that she has almost left Mumbai and now often stays in shelter homes and hotels whenever she visits the city. She shared that Karjat, which was once her second home, has now become her primary place of living.
Shilpa further opened up about an incident that changed her relationship with her family. She claimed that after undergoing shoulder surgery, she was asked to leave her own house just days later. According to her, disagreements within the family and outside influences created a situation where she had no option but to leave.
She recalled that she left the house late at night and felt hurt that her mother did not stop her. Shilpa said that her self-respect prevented her from staying in a place where she felt unwanted.
The actor also spoke about how she often feels people take advantage of those who are always available for them. Comparing herself to another contestant, she said she understood what it feels like to be treated like a “doormat” by loved ones.
Shilpa revealed that she has even mentioned in her will that she does not want any connection with her family. She added that her dream is not just to build a home for herself but to create a shelter home for others who go through difficult situations.
“I don’t want anyone’s sympathy. This is my truth,” she said while explaining her reason for participating in the show.
The actor also addressed criticism about her personality, saying many people label her as “toxic” because of her strong opinions and difficulty maintaining relationships. However, she said that her experiences have made her emotionally stronger and more detached.
