Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has added another valuable property to his impressive real estate collection, but this purchase is not just about luxury or investment. The actor’s latest acquisition carries a deep emotional connection as it is the very home where he and wife Gauri Khan began their married life.
According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan has purchased the second and third floors of a residential property located in the upscale Panchsheel Park area of South Delhi for approximately ₹37 crore. With this purchase, the actor has become the complete owner of the entire building, as he already owned the basement and first floor.
The property holds a special place in Shah Rukh and Gauri’s hearts because it was their first home after marriage in 1991, before they moved to Mumbai when Shah Rukh started building his career in the film industry.
Both Shah Rukh and Gauri were born and brought up in Delhi. While Mumbai eventually became their permanent home due to the actor’s successful Bollywood journey, their Delhi residence remains connected to their early years, struggles, and memories as a young couple.
The property is reportedly spread across a large 1,200-square-yard plot, covering nearly 10,800 square feet. The reported transaction value is around ₹37 crore, with the land value estimated at approximately ₹34,260 per square foot.
For Shah Rukh, who owns several luxurious properties around the world, including his iconic Mumbai mansion Mannat, this Delhi purchase appears to be more about preserving a personal connection rather than simply expanding his property portfolio.
Gauri Khan has previously spoken about the emotional importance of their Delhi home and how it became a place where the family’s memories could stay together.
In an earlier interview, Gauri revealed that she wanted a home in Delhi because of her strong connection with the city and her family roots. She explained that the house was designed to bring together years of memories collected by her and Shah Rukh during their journey together.
She shared that every corner of the house reflects important moments from their lives — from their children’s childhood memories to special gifts and personal belongings collected over the years.
One of her favourite parts of the home is a special “nostalgia wall” featuring treasured items connected to their family. The wall reportedly includes childhood keepsakes of their children Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan, and AbRam Khan, along with Shah Rukh’s artwork, postcards, antiques, and sentimental gifts.
The purchase of the Panchsheel Park property is another reminder of Shah Rukh Khan’s emotional bond with Delhi. Before becoming one of India’s biggest superstars, he was a young boy from the capital with dreams of making it big in films.
While his journey took him from Delhi to Mumbai and international fame, reclaiming the entire home where his married life began shows that some places remain priceless — not because of their market value, but because of the memories they hold.
