Ranbir Kapoor urged Neetu Kapoor to return from ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’ shoot amid India–Pakistan tensions: ‘Mumma, please come back’

Veteran actor Neetu Kapoor recently shared a heartfelt behind-the-scenes moment from the filming of her upcoming movie Daadi Ki Shaadi, revealing how her son Ranbir Kapoor became concerned for her safety during the shoot amid rising India–Pakistan tensions at the time.

The family comedy-drama, which also marks the acting debut of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, was being filmed in Shimla when the situation reportedly escalated, prompting concern from family members.

Ranbir Kapoor’s emotional call

Speaking during a promotional interaction, Neetu Kapoor recalled that Ranbir Kapoor personally reached out to her after hearing about the situation.

“He called me and said, ‘Mumma, please come back,’” Neetu shared.

However, she reassured him about her safety, saying the location was secure. “But I told him, ‘This is the safest place right now, nobody is going to drop bombs here.’ When the situation started, everyone decided to continue working. Everybody was very excited about the film and no one wanted to leave,” she added.

Strong bond on set

Co-actor Kapil Sharma, who is also part of the film, revealed that several unexpected challenges arose during the shoot, including the tense external situation. He noted that despite the circumstances, the cast and crew remained committed to completing the project.

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni also spoke about the experience, highlighting the close-knit atmosphere on set. She mentioned that the entire team developed a strong bond, which made the filming experience more like a family environment than a conventional shoot.

Unique shooting experience in Shimla

Neetu Kapoor further shared that the shoot conditions in Shimla were quite different from typical film sets. Unlike standard productions, there were no vanity vans available, and the cast stayed in cottages due to space limitations.

Kapil Sharma added that this arrangement actually helped the team grow closer, as they spent more time together off-camera, strengthening their camaraderie during the schedule.
