Halloween brought a surprise for horror film fans at HorrorCon India 2026 in New Delhi. Actor and producer Rana Daggubati announced a new horror film titled Scary Picture, which will feature Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. The project will be directed by Telugu filmmaker-actor Ravi Babu, known for his unconventional and experimental style of filmmaking.
The announcement was made on stage at the horror-themed event, where a glimpse of the film’s title was displayed on screen. Kangana later made the news official by sharing a video of the announcement on her Instagram account.
Rana Daggubati Announces Scary Picture at HorrorCon India
Speaking at HorrorCon India 2026, Rana revealed that Scary Picture is a horror film helmed by his friend Ravi Babu. He also shared that the project will mark the filmmaker’s first Hindi feature film.
Rana said, “So, it’s a horror film. It’s by a director called Ravi Babu, who is a friend of mine. He’s made multiple horror films in Telugu. And this is his first Hindi feature. The title is announced here first. It went to no Hindi press; this is the first time we’re putting the intimation up.”
While the announcement has generated excitement, Rana’s production house is yet to share a detailed official statement about the film. The title Scary Picture suggests that the project is being made in Hindi, marking a new chapter in Ravi Babu’s filmmaking journey.

Who Is Ravi Babu?
Ravi Babu is a Telugu actor and filmmaker known for exploring unusual concepts and experimenting with different genres. The son of veteran Telugu actor Chalapathi Rao, Ravi began his acting career in 1998 and made his directorial debut in 2002.
His films are often recognised for their offbeat storytelling and willingness to move away from conventional commercial formulas. In 2023, he made Adhugo, an experimental film featuring a piglet as its central character.
