According to a statement shared by actor Sudipa Chatterjee on behalf of Rajesh Sharma’s family, the incident took place at Ramoji Film City during the shooting of the film. After the pack-up, Rajesh was spending time with local technicians in an area surrounded by dense vegetation when he reportedly felt an insect bite, possibly from a bug or a poisonous spider.

Despite his deteriorating condition, Rajesh travelled back to Kolkata by flight. During the journey, his condition reportedly became worse as he developed a high fever and increasing restlessness. The following day, he was admitted to Manipal Hospital in Dhakuria for treatment.

Doctors revealed that the infection in his right leg has progressed, with symptoms including high fever, breathing difficulties and swelling. The infection reportedly spread from his toes up to his knee, with blisters appearing on the affected area. The medical team is closely monitoring his condition and conducting further tests.

According to the family’s statement, doctors are concerned about possible complications, including the risk of blood clot formation, which could become dangerous if it affects other parts of the body. However, the medical team is continuing treatment, and a detailed health update is expected after further assessment.

The family has expressed gratitude to fans, friends, the media, the Bengal Motion Pictures Artists’ Forum and everyone who has extended support and prayers during this difficult time. They also thanked actor Prosenjit Chatterjee for standing by them and offering constant support.
