Salman Khan Gets Relief as Rajasthan High Court Stays Bailable Warrant in Advertisement Case
Actor Salman Khan has received interim relief from the Rajasthan High Court after it stayed a bailable warrant issued against him in connection with an alleged misleading advertisement case.
The warrant had earlier been issued by the Jaipur District Consumer Commission-II following a complaint that advertisements for Rajshree Pan Masala, endorsed by the actor, misled consumers. The complaint alleged that the product was promoted as “saffron-infused cardamom” and “saffron-infused pan masala,” raising concerns over the accuracy of the claims.
The case was filed by Yogendra Singh Badiyal, who argued that such promotional descriptions could create a false impression among consumers regarding the product’s ingredients.
A bench led by Justice Anoop Singhi of the Rajasthan High Court granted the stay on the bailable warrant, offering temporary relief to the actor. As a result, Salman Khan will not be required to appear before the Consumer Commission on April 13, which had previously been marked as a final opportunity for his appearance.
The court’s decision effectively pauses the immediate legal obligation while allowing the matter to proceed in accordance with further judicial directions.
The case highlights ongoing scrutiny around celebrity endorsements and the responsibility of public figures in ensuring that advertising claims are accurate and not misleading. As proceedings continue, the outcome may have broader implications for how such endorsements are regulated in the future.
