Nora Fatehi is once again making India proud on the global stage. The singer and dancer recently performed at the opening ceremony of the FIFA Club World Cup 2026 in Toronto, where she presented Siir Siir, one of the official songs from the tournament’s music album.
For Nora, the moment was extra special as it marked her return to the FIFA stage four years after she performed the FIFA World Cup anthem Light The Sky in Qatar. This time, she found herself sharing the global spotlight with some of the biggest names in music, including Shakira, Burna Boy, Katy Perry, Lisa from BLACKPINK and Tyla.
Talking about the experience, Nora admitted that being part of a lineup featuring international stars like Shakira was incredibly exciting.
She said that she had worked hard for years to reach this point and feels honoured to share such opportunities with global icons. According to Nora, performing on a platform that brings together different cultures and musical styles reminds her of the power of music to connect people across the world.
The journey of Siir Siir also holds a personal meaning for the actress-singer. Nora revealed that the idea for the song came to her while attending the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) matches in Morocco earlier this year. Hearing nearly 70,000 fans chanting “Siir Siir” during the games inspired her to approach producer Sanjoy and create a World Cup anthem around that energy.
She also shared that recording the track pushed her to explore a new side of herself as a singer. Nora experimented with her vocals, harmonies and creative ideas to make the song stronger while also taking an active role in producing the music video.
For the visual presentation, she brought together an international team that included her Indian dancers and choreographer along with a Moroccan production crew. One of the most emotional moments came while filming the final sequence of the music video.
According to Nora, the team had only 15 minutes to shoot on the football pitch. Once the shoot wrapped up, everyone ran off the field and embraced each other with tears of joy, knowing they had created something special.
The actress described the opportunity as a great honour because it is the second time she has been associated with FIFA. She first became part of the tournament’s legacy in 2022 with Light The Sky and now has returned with Siir Siir for another global celebration of football and music.
Reflecting on her journey, Nora said that moments like these remind her that years of hard work, sacrifices and struggles have been worth it. She spoke about overcoming rejection, injuries and difficult phases in her career while continuing to believe in herself.
She also credited her willingness to take risks for helping her reach this stage. Nora pointed out that producing and singing songs like Arabic Dilbar, Pepeta and Dirty Little Secret was a major career gamble, but she wanted to create a unique identity beyond acting and dancing.
According to her, those bold decisions opened new doors and eventually led her to perform FIFA anthems on one of the world’s biggest stages.
With another memorable FIFA performance under her belt, Nora Fatehi continues to strengthen her position as one of the few Indian entertainers making a mark on the international music scene.
