Mumbai/Nashik: Nida Khan, an employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and one of the accused in the ongoing Nashik workplace investigation, has reportedly claimed she is pregnant while seeking anticipatory bail from a local court.

Khan, who is currently “on the run” as per police sources, has approached a Nashik court requesting anticipatory bail. Her plea is expected to reference her alleged medical condition, including pregnancy, as a key ground for relief. Authorities, however, are expected to independently verify these claims through official medical channels as part of the ongoing investigation.

The case stems from serious allegations at TCS’s Nashik unit involving claims of sexual harassment and forced religious conversion. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe multiple complaints filed by women employees, with allegations spanning mental harassment, sexual assault, and workplace coercion.

According to police statements, several employees have already been arrested in connection with the case, including individuals from supervisory roles and the HR department. The accused are currently suspended, and further disciplinary action is expected based on the outcome of the investigation.

The allegations also include claims that employees were pressured in matters related to religion, along with accusations of inappropriate behaviour and misuse of authority. Police have stated that they are examining all complaints in detail, including digital and testimonial evidence.

Tata Consultancy Services has reiterated its “zero-tolerance” policy toward harassment, stating that it is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities. The company also confirmed that internal action was taken promptly after the matter came to light.

Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaran has previously described the allegations as “gravely concerning,” adding that a detailed internal investigation is underway under senior leadership to determine accountability and ensure corrective action.

As the investigation continues, the court will decide on Khan’s anticipatory bail plea while authorities proceed with verifying her claims and gathering further evidence in the case.
