A minor argument over whether to keep the train door open or closed during heavy rainfall turned into a shocking murder inside a Mumbai local train, leaving a 22-year-old man dead.
The incident took place in a first-class compartment of a Western Railway local train travelling between Andheri and Borivali stations. According to police, the victim got into an argument with fellow passengers over the coach door. As rain lashed the city, some passengers reportedly wanted the door shut to avoid getting drenched, while others preferred to keep it open.
What began as a verbal disagreement soon escalated into a violent altercation. During the scuffle, the young man was allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon and suffered serious injuries. Fellow passengers were left stunned as chaos erupted inside the crowded compartment.
The victim was rushed for medical treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries. His death has sent shockwaves across Mumbai, with many expressing concern over the increasing number of violent incidents in public spaces.
