Mira Rajput has opened up about her experience of becoming a mother at a young age and how her family supported her through the journey. Married to Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor in 2015, Mira was just 21 when she entered a new phase of life. A year later, the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Misha.

During her recent appearance on Kareena Kapoor’s chat show What Women Want, Mira spoke candidly about motherhood and whether she would have preferred to experience it at a different stage in her life.

When Kareena asked if she would have chosen a different time to become a mother, Mira made it clear that she had no regrets. She explained that motherhood comes with its own challenges, regardless of a woman’s age or stage of life.

“I don’t think so. Regardless of what stage it comes to you, motherhood is a challenge. You and I have had kids in different stages but I am sure we both have had those challenges,” Mira said.

Mira Rajput Credits Shahid Kapoor for His Support

Speaking about the early days of motherhood, Mira revealed that Shahid Kapoor’s support made a significant difference. She admitted that raising children and managing the responsibilities of motherhood can sometimes feel overwhelming, but having a supportive partner helped her navigate that phase.

She also shared that her two sisters, who had already experienced motherhood, played an important role in guiding her. Instead of relying on parenting books, Mira learned by observing how her sisters raised their children.

“I didn’t read a single book because I saw them raising children,” she shared, explaining how their experiences helped her understand the responsibilities of being a mother.

Mira Says She Wouldn’t Change Her Motherhood Journey

Mira acknowledged that becoming a mother at 21 came with its own set of challenges. However, she believes that every stage of motherhood brings different experiences and difficulties.

Despite the challenges, she said she would not have chosen a different path. Her experience highlights the importance of having a strong support system, especially during the early years of raising children.

Shahid and Mira, who married in 2015, are now parents to two children, daughter Misha and son Zain. Through her latest conversation, Mira offered a glimpse into her personal journey and spoke about how love, family support and shared experiences helped shape her experience of motherhood.
