Jr NTR Leads Emotional Tribute Ceremony For N.T. Rama Rao In Hyderabad

Jr NTR paid an emotional tribute to his grandfather, legendary actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao, on his 103rd birth anniversary in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The actor visited the iconic NTR Ghat to offer floral tributes and remember the legendary leader, who continues to remain one of the most respected personalities in Telugu cinema and politics. Several members of the Nandamuri family also gathered at the memorial to honour his legacy.

Among those present were NTR’s wife Lakshmi Parvathi and daughter Daggubati Purandeswari, who both spoke emotionally about the late leader’s everlasting impact on Telugu people across the world.

Lakshmi Parvathi said that even today people worship NTR with immense respect and continue to organise food distribution drives and blood donation camps in his memory. She described him as a personality who continues to live in people’s hearts even after death.

Expressing her gratitude, she also thanked Revanth Reddy for installing NTR’s statue and said that whenever she thinks about Telugu pride and identity, the first name that comes to her mind is NTR.

Daggubati Purandeswari also remembered her father with deep emotion and said that NTR belongs to the people and remains immortal in their hearts. According to her, lakhs of Telugu families still celebrate his birth anniversary as if he were a member of their own household.

Actor Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna also visited NTR Ghat and paid tribute to the legendary icon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also remembered NTR on his birth anniversary through a heartfelt message on social media. PM Modi praised his commitment to public welfare, governance and dignity for the poor and marginalised sections of society.

He also highlighted NTR’s timeless contribution to Indian cinema and called his life and ideals a source of inspiration for generations. The Prime Minister further stated that the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, under the leadership of N. Chandrababu Naidu, remains committed to fulfilling the aspirations NTR had for Telugu people.

Born on May 28, 1923, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR, remains one of the most influential personalities in Telugu history. Before entering politics, he became a massive superstar in Telugu cinema and was admired for portraying mythological characters with unmatched screen presence.

Apart from acting, NTR was also a producer, director and editor. During his celebrated film career, he won three National Film Awards for films like Thodu Dongalu, Seetharama Kalyanam and Varakatnam.

He also received the prestigious Rashtrapati Awards for his performances in classics like Raju Peda and Lava Kusa.

In politics, NTR founded the Telugu Desam Party and served multiple terms as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He was widely admired for bringing regional pride and self-respect to Telugu politics.

Even decades after his passing, NTR’s influence continues to shape both Telugu cinema and Andhra Pradesh politics. His birth anniversary once again became a moment for millions of fans and supporters to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of a man who changed the face of entertainment and public service forever.
