Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla continues to hold steady at the box office, maintaining a solid run even as Dhurandhar 2 dominates headlines with its record-breaking performance. Despite stiff competition, the horror-comedy has managed to sustain momentum in its first week.
On Day 5, Bhooth Bangla collected ₹7.65 crore across 11,589 shows in India, reflecting consistent audience interest. With this, the film’s domestic net collection stands at ₹72.40 crore, while the gross has reached ₹86.21 crore. Overseas, the film added ₹2.50 crore on the same day, taking its international total to ₹31.50 crore. This brings its worldwide gross collection to an impressive ₹117.71 crore.
The film’s steady performance is notable, especially considering the overwhelming box office wave created by Dhurandhar 2. Even on its 34th day, the action blockbuster continues to pull in audiences, earning ₹2 crore on its fifth Tuesday. So far, Dhurandhar 2 has amassed ₹1,119.29 crore in India (net) and ₹1,339.76 crore (gross). Internationally, it has collected ₹422 crore, pushing its global total to a staggering ₹1,761.76 crore.
The success of Dhurandhar 2 has also elevated its franchise value, with combined earnings crossing ₹3,000 crore — a milestone that sets a new benchmark for Indian cinema. The film, featuring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt, remains a major draw in theatres since its release on March 19.
Meanwhile, Bhooth Bangla has carved its own space with a decent box office trajectory. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film marks his reunion with Akshay Kumar after 14 years — a collaboration that has historically delivered fan-favorite entertainers. The film also benefited from paid previews, earning ₹3.75 crore ahead of its official release.
Featuring a strong ensemble cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, and veteran actor Asrani, the film blends humor with horror — a genre combination that continues to find an audience despite mixed reviews.
Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films, Bhooth Bangla had its release strategically postponed by a week to avoid clashing directly with the Dhurandhar 2 frenzy. The decision appears to have paid off, allowing the film to establish a stable foothold at the box office.
While Dhurandhar 2 continues its historic run and eyes the title of the highest-grossing Indian film, Bhooth Bangla is proving that there is still room for diverse genres to succeed. Its consistent earnings indicate that even amid blockbuster dominance, well-packaged entertainers can hold their ground and attract audiences.
