Akshay Kumar undergoes eye surgery in Mumbai, to take short break after finishing film schedule
Actor Akshay Kumar has undergone a minor eye surgery in Mumbai and will be taking a brief break to recover after completing a busy shooting schedule, according to sources.
The actor, who has had an eventful 2026 with multiple projects in the pipeline, reportedly underwent the procedure on the morning of Wednesday, May 6. The surgery is said to be a routine vision correction procedure.
Minor surgery after hectic schedule
A source close to the development shared that the procedure was minor and went smoothly. “It was a minor surgery which took place on the morning of May 6. It was for vision correction. Akshay will now take a break and recuperate since he has also finished the Keralam schedule of his next film with Anees Bazmee,” the source said.
The upcoming film directed by Anees Bazmee also stars Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna. Akshay had recently wrapped a major shooting schedule in Kerala before proceeding for the medical procedure.
Busy year at work
Akshay Kumar, known for maintaining one of the most packed schedules in the industry, recently appeared in Priyadarshan’s “Bhooth Bangla”, which was reportedly well received.
Despite the brief health-related break, the actor continues to have several major projects lined up. His upcoming slate includes “Welcome To The Jungle”, “Haiwaan”, “Golmaal 5”, and the Marathi film “Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat”.
