The Bombay High Court has taken an important step in the long-running case surrounding the death of Disha Salian, former celebrity manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

The court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the circumstances surrounding Disha Salian’s death. The court also directed the agency to register an FIR, record the statement of her father, Satish Salian, and obtain relevant records from the Mumbai Police.

Disha Salian died in June 2020 after falling from a building in Mumbai. Her death later became closely linked in public discussions to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, who died days later. However, the circumstances surrounding both deaths have remained the subject of intense public debate and speculation.

The High Court has also stressed an important principle: no individual should be treated as an accused unless there is sufficient material or evidence against them. The investigation, therefore, should focus on establishing the facts and determining exactly what happened.

The court’s intervention has once again brought attention to questions that have remained unanswered for years. Why has the investigation taken so long? Why have the families and the public had to wait for so many years for clarity? And will the latest investigation finally provide a definitive answer?

Disha Salian’s family has continued to seek answers about the circumstances surrounding her death. With the CBI now directed to examine the matter, there is renewed hope among those seeking clarity that the investigation will establish the facts based on evidence rather than speculation.

The case has also remained connected in the public imagination with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Sushant died on June 14, 2020, and his death was officially treated as suicide. At the same time, questions and theories surrounding his death have continued to circulate on social media and in public discussions.

However, it is important to distinguish between allegations, speculation and facts established through an investigation. At present, it would be premature to conclude that either Disha Salian’s or Sushant Singh Rajput’s death was anything other than what has been officially established without fresh evidence proving otherwise.

The latest court intervention could therefore be significant if it leads to a thorough, transparent and evidence-based investigation. After years of questions, what the families and the public ultimately deserve is not more speculation, but clear answers based on facts and evidence.

The biggest question now remains: Will the latest investigation finally reveal what happened to Disha Salian, or will the mystery continue?
