Actor Sonakshi Sinha has expressed her concern over the clashes during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest in Delhi, sharing visuals of the police action against students and activists. The actor said the incident left not just the protesters but the entire nation heartbroken.
The CJP protest march, organised over alleged examination irregularities and demands for education reforms, turned tense on Monday after protesters attempting to march towards Parliament faced resistance from security forces. Several visuals from the protest showing police using lathi-charge and tear gas went viral on social media, leading to reactions from several public figures.
Sharing pictures from the protest, Sonakshi wrote, “20th July bohot logon ki haddiyaan tooti aur ek POORE DESH ka dil toota. Yaad rakhna.” Her post reflected her disappointment over the treatment of young protesters who had gathered to raise their concerns.

Sonakshi has been among the few Bollywood celebrities who have openly supported the CJP-led movement. Earlier, she had also reacted to activist Sonam Wangchuk being taken away by police from Jantar Mantar after his prolonged hunger strike.
In a video shared on social media, the actor expressed relief that Wangchuk was safe and praised the peaceful nature of the protest. She said that despite facing difficulties, disappointment, and challenges, the protesters continued to stand firm while maintaining calm.
Sonakshi highlighted the importance of listening to young voices and said that the strength of the country lies in its youth. She appreciated the determination of students and activists who continued to demand answers despite the difficult circumstances.
Following the clashes, several other celebrities also voiced their opinions. Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh extended his support to the students and criticised the use of force against them. He urged authorities to listen to their concerns and find a solution through dialogue.
The CJP march witnessed a massive turnout as thousands of students and supporters gathered in Delhi. While protesters alleged excessive use of force by police, authorities claimed that security measures were taken after some demonstrators violated restrictions and attempted to break barricades.
