Today, Alia Bhatt is one of the most successful and celebrated actors in Indian cinema, but her journey began with a simple childhood dream. Long before the awards, blockbuster films and global recognition, Alia was just a little girl imagining herself on the television screen.
Speaking at News18 India’s Amrit Ratna 2026, the actor opened up about her early fascination with acting and revealed that her love for performing started at a very young age.
Recalling those days with nostalgia, Alia said, “Sach kahun to main to bachpan se hee acting kar rahi hoon apne mirror ke saamne. Mere paas sirf mere dimaag mein ek sapna tha ki mujhe ek din woh jo TV dikh raha hai na, uske andar hona hai.”
The heartfelt confession offered a glimpse into the determination and imagination that shaped her future. Like many children, Alia would spend hours in front of the mirror, performing scenes and dreaming of becoming a part of the magical world she saw on television.
She also revealed that she was deeply inspired by Bollywood stars she grew up watching. Songs featuring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor left a lasting impression on her, drawing her closer to the world of cinema. Their energy, charm and screen presence fascinated the young Alia, who began picturing herself in that glamorous world.
The actor shared that even as a child, she felt a strong connection with the camera and believed she was destined to perform. “Since then, I have believed that I was meant to be in front of the camera,” she said.
Years later, that dream became a reality. From her debut in Student of the Year to acclaimed performances in films such as Raazi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Highway, Dear Zindagi and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Alia has built an impressive career through talent, dedication and hard work.
Her story serves as a reminder that every successful journey begins with a dream. What started as a young girl acting in front of a mirror eventually transformed into a remarkable career that has made her one of Bollywood’s biggest stars.
For Alia Bhatt, the dream was never just about fame. It was about belonging to the world of stories, emotions and cinema a world she knew from childhood she was meant to be a part of.
