Kangana Ranaut Calls Aditya Dhar a ‘Superstar Filmmaker’, Compares Him to Nolan and Spielberg
New Delhi:
As Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues its record-breaking run, actor Kangana Ranaut has joined the growing list of celebrities praising director Aditya Dhar. Taking to Instagram Stories, Kangana hailed Dhar as a “superstar filmmaker” and even compared him to global cinematic legends.
Kangana’s Powerful Praise
In her post, Kangana highlighted how filmmakers often remain underappreciated compared to actors, despite being the driving force behind cinema.
“The best thing about Dhurandhar’s success is that Aditya Dhar… a superstar director, is established. Hollywood superstar directors are always far bigger than superstar actors—like Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan,” she wrote.
She further spoke about the challenges filmmakers face in India, calling them often overworked and underpaid. Applauding Dhar’s rise, she added, “Here is a superstar filmmaker shining brighter than any hero. Today, so many youngsters are watching his story who will aspire to be like him and take the film industry to greater heights.”

Box Office Momentum Continues
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has maintained a strong hold at the box office. After a massive opening, the film earned ₹80.72 crore on Day 2, despite a slight dip from its ₹102.55 crore opening day collection.
The film recorded these numbers across more than 20,000 shows nationwide, with the Hindi version dominating collections. With total domestic gross reaching ₹269.39 crore and net collections at ₹226.27 crore, the film is expected to cross the ₹250 crore milestone within days.
Star Power and Storytelling
The sequel, released on March 19, is a follow-up to 2025’s Dhurandhar, which was the highest-grossing film of the year. It stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role, alongside R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Rakesh Bedi.
Blending high-octane action with emotional storytelling, the film traces the rise of Hamza Ali Mazari while exploring his transformation from Jaskirat Singh Rangi into a covert operative.
A Director in the Spotlight
With praise pouring in from across the industry—including Kangana Ranaut’s strong endorsement—Aditya Dhar’s work on Dhurandhar: The Revenge is being seen as a defining moment in his career.
By placing the spotlight firmly on the filmmaker, Kangana’s remarks have sparked a larger conversation about the importance of directors in shaping cinematic success—something she believes will inspire a new generation to dream beyond acting and step into storytelling.
