Ram Charan’s highly anticipated sports drama Peddi has finally arrived in theatres, and all signs point towards a spectacular start at the box office. Backed by strong advance bookings, overwhelming fan enthusiasm and positive pre-release buzz, the film is already being tipped as one of the biggest openers of 2026.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi has generated tremendous excitement among audiences ever since its announcement. The combination of Ram Charan’s star power, a sports-centric storyline and a large-scale cinematic presentation has helped the film build significant momentum ahead of its release.

Advance Bookings Paint a Promising Picture

Even before its first show, Peddi had registered impressive numbers across India. According to trade reports, the film sold over 82 lakh tickets in advance bookings, collecting more than ₹20 crore in gross revenue. When blocked seats and premium bookings are included, the figure reportedly rises to nearly ₹33 crore.

The Telugu version has emerged as the primary driving force behind the film’s advance sales, reflecting Ram Charan’s massive popularity among audiences in the southern states. While the dubbed versions have recorded comparatively modest bookings, the original version’s strong performance has ensured a flying start.

Aiming for the ₹100 Crore Club on Day One

Industry experts believe Peddi could comfortably cross ₹60 crore net in India on its opening day. Combined with overseas collections, the film is expected to challenge the coveted ₹100 crore worldwide opening mark.

If the projections hold true, Peddi will join an elite group of films that have achieved a century at the global box office on their first day. The expected opening would also place the film among the strongest performers of the year, surpassing several major releases and reaffirming Ram Charan’s box office dominance.

Trade analysts estimate that the overseas market alone could contribute more than $3 million, providing a significant boost to the worldwide total.

Ram Charan’s Star Power at Work

Much of the film’s pre-release excitement can be attributed to Ram Charan’s immense fan following. Following the international success of RRR, audiences have eagerly awaited another major solo outing from the actor.

In Peddi, Ram Charan takes on the role of a determined young man whose life revolves around sports, ambition and personal struggles. The actor’s rugged transformation, emotionally driven performance and action-packed sequences have become major talking points among fans.

More Than Just a Sports Drama

Apart from its sports backdrop, Peddi explores themes of perseverance, dreams and self-belief. The film also boasts a strong supporting cast featuring Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani.

Director Buchi Babu Sana, who earned praise for his debut film Uppena, has attempted to blend emotion, sports and mass entertainment into a story designed for the big screen.

The Real Test Begins Now

While advance bookings and opening-day predictions indicate a blockbuster start, the film’s long-term success will ultimately depend on audience reactions and word of mouth. Strong openings often create momentum, but sustained collections require positive feedback from moviegoers.

For now, however, Peddi appears to have everything working in its favour. With Ram Charan leading the charge and fans turning out in huge numbers, the sports drama is poised to become one of the biggest theatrical events of the year.

Whether it ultimately joins the list of all-time blockbusters remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Peddi has begun its box office journey on a remarkably strong note.
